The thing about drip coffee is that it has a different nature than espresso: it takes longer to wake you up, but the "buzz" stays around longer. Espresso hits you quicker, but then you also crash sooner. Adding more espresso would intensify the buzz & worsen the crash. I've never actually tried a "Canadiano".
